We realize that were only at the beginning of the Bowery journey and we couldnt have asked for a better group of investors to help us grow in this next stage.

New funding to grow food for a better future

Contributed by | Bowery Farming

We started Bowery to grow food for a better future by revolutionizing agriculture. In a little over two years, we’ve assembled an incredible team of experts passionate about the problem we’re solving, developed BoweryOS — our proprietary software platform — from the ground up, and built a fully-operational farm eight miles outside of New York City that supplies restaurants and grocery stores throughout the region.

While we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, we have so much more we want to do, which is why we’re thrilled to announce that Bowery has raised $20M in new funding co-led by General Catalyst and GGV Capital, with participation from GV (formerly Google Ventures) and a number of our seed round investors, including First Round CapitalHans Tung from GGV and Spencer Lazar from General Catalyst will be joining Rob Hayes from First Round Capital on our Board of Directors, and we’re incredibly fortunate to draw on their expertise in scaling global consumer-facing companies. We’re also lucky to work with Andy Wheeler from GV, whose investments include other food and agriculture-focused companies like Impossible Foods and Farmers Business Network.

This additional funding will help us expand our operations, continue to invest in our technology, and bring on world-class talent. We’re currently expanding to more Whole Foods Markets, and we’ve already starting to work on our next farm in the Tri-state area to distribute our produce more broadly. It’s a fantastic time to join our team! We’re always looking for amazing people, and actively hiring across the organization from engineering to agricultural science and business operations.

We realize that we’re only at the beginning of the Bowery journey and we couldn’t have asked for a better group of investors to help us grow in this next stage. To our customers, our supporters, and our investors, thank you so much for your support thus far — we’re excited for what’s ahead.

How to overcome GNSS limitations with RTK correction services

How to overcome GNSS limitations with RTK correction services

Although GNSS offers ubiquitous coverage worldwide, its accuracy can be hindered in some situations - signals can be attenuated by heavy vegetation, for example, or obstructed by tall buildings in dense urban canyons. This results in signals being received indirectly or via the multipath effect, leading to inaccuracy, or even blocked entirely. Unimpeded GNSS positioning in all real world scenarios is therefore unrealistic - creating a need for supporting technologies, such as real time kinematic (RTK) positioning and dead reckoning, to enable centimeter-accuracy for newer mass-market IoT devices.
