5 Reasons For IT To Move To NaaS
5 Reasons For IT To Move To NaaS

Well really there is just one reason. The enterprise needs its Network at its service.

X (anything)-as-a-service has been a work-in-progress for the past few decades. With IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings maturing, a sensible enterprise can focus on its business goals than worrying about building and maintaining its digital infrastructure.

In this line of evolution, the time for Network-as-a-service (NaaS) has clearly arrived.

NaaS is a cloud-based service that provides secure network backed by service level assurance.

Budget Friendly

The technology upgrade cycle is fast, furious, and confusing. Keeping the business-critical infrastructure up-to-date, secure, and meeting the growing demand is a monumental undertaking. A business dependent on this critical infrastructure, cannot afford a pause to let IT and Security teams keep the technology at its innovative best.

The costs of owning a network, start mounting exponentially as the infrastructure ages and the mix of equipment diversifies over a few quick years.

A simple TCO calculator does an injustice to the cost saving potential of a NaaS.

Security

It is often difficult to convince customers of the worth of a security solution until a breach happens.

A majority of security loopholes are created by human-errors, the likelihood of which increases as the infrastructure ages and the network configuration complexity increases. A NaaS solution provides a completely automated, cloud-driven solution to prevent such human-errors.

NaaS can provide businesses a ‘Service Level Agreement’ that includes the ‘Security as a service,’ with a clear, periodic ‘Proof-of-security’ report and assistance to meet security compliance as needed by the business (e.g., PCI-DSS or HIPPA etc.).

Performance

NaaS can improve the network performance and reliability by using the latest cloud technology and by using artificial intelligence (AI) to anticipate failures. The automation can optimize the network speed, bandwidth, latency, and availability by using advanced algorithms and techniques, such as pre-emptive capacity additions, load balancing, traffic shaping, routing optimization, and fault tolerance.

Innovation

NaaS can enable businesses to access new and emerging network technologies and services, such as 5G, edge-AI, internet of things (IoT), and Hyper-converged networking.

The core of a NaaS solution intelligence is in the Cloud, ably supported by the probes on the ground and edge-AI. This architecture and an eye across the horizon of existing and evolving use-cases, help a NaaS solution to be nimbler to innovate and make the new innovations accessible to all its customers.

Simplicity

NaaS can simplify the network management and administration needs of a business by reducing the entire process to an SLA contract and a periodic report.

A set of SLAs that meets the business’s process and compliance needs with clear up-front penalty structure around failure to meet the SLA.

True simplicity is no longer about having a great dashboard. It is about not-even-having-to-access-any-dashboard.

NaaS can reduce it to clear, periodic, and executive-friendly ‘Proof-of-Service’ reports.
