Thailand set to host two major agricultural business events which feature smart technologies during 22-24 August 2018. Attracted by Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, these events will underscore the country's leading position in the world's agriculture sector and are expected to attract up to 20,000 international delegates coming to explore agricultural innovations displayed under one roof. Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, said that TCEB provides support for two agricultural trade fairs which to be hosted in Thailand namely Horti ASIA 2018 - a leading international trade show for horticulture and floricultural production and processing technology, and AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2018 - the world's largest trade fair for agricultural machinery and equipment. Both events will take place in Bangkok during 22-24 August 2018 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center or BITEC.
These trade fairs will further strengthen Thailand's position as a major hub for trade and investment in agricultural machinery as well as innovative technologies which have been building on the country's significant role in the world's agricultural sector. For this year's edition, the co-located fairs will be emphasising on the 'Solutions for Horticulture and Agricultural Industries'.
The Horti Asia 2018 is recognised as the region's leading event for horticultural professionals involved in growing fruit, flowers, vegetables, and plant production and greenhouse technology. This year's highlights showcase agricultural and horticultural technologies including academic works from the Embassy of The Netherlands and the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS). Also, the show will reveal state-of-art technological developments for agribusinesses such as an agricultural drone technology from China, an energy-efficient water system from Turkey, and a smart plant-nursery with an artificial lighting system from Thailand.
The AGRITECHNICA ASIA has established itself as the trade fair for agricultural machinery in the Asian-Pacific region. This year, the show will include the Systems & Components Asia exhibition - an international platform for the latest developments in engines and components for agricultural machinery and related industries - for the first time. New technologies to be showcased at the show include the hydraulic fertilizer placement machine from Germany, sugarcane cutting machine operated by the Software and Intelligent System from Thailand and a Smart Mobile Farming Application that is designed to improve agricultural efficiency.
"TCEB has been placing emphasis on these agricultural trade fairs. The events are not only driving the growth of Thailand's MICE industry but also strengthening the agricultural sector which is considered the mainstay of Thailand's economy," said Mr. Chiruit.
It is estimated that the Horti ASIA 2018 and AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2018 will generate more than 824 million baht in revenue to the country and attract more than 17,000 delegates including 7,600 international delegates and 9,600 delegates from Thailand.
