GroGuru CEO to Participate on a Panel at the California Agriculture Summit

Panel on AgWater Utilization & Efficiency includes industry leaders and academic experts

GroGuru president and CEO, Patrick Henry, will be on a panel about AgWater Utilization & Efficiency at the California Agriculture Summit to be held on May 23, 2019 at the University of California Riverside. Larta Institute's Global Ag Innovation Network (GAIN), is proud to present an event focused on California's agricultural sector. The California Agriculture Summit will bring diverse agricultural stakeholders together to spur a dialogue on resource challenges faced by growers and ways that research and technology can be part of the solution.

"GroGuru is excited to participate in what should be a lively and informative panel discussion about one of the worlds biggest environmental challenges: the amount of water needed in coming decades to feed an increasing global population," said Patrick Henry, president and CEO of GroGuru. "70 percent of the world's freshwater supply is already used for agriculture irrigation, and despite the recent wet winter in California and the Western US, the problem of not having enough water is going to be a growing problem going forward. While we face massive challenges, this is also an opportunity for innovation."

California is a world leader in agriculture; this economic sector is known for its ability to provide food, fiber, and fuel for the world, as well as being at the forefront of leadership to address climate change, environmental issues, and efficient sustainable use of resources & inputs. Challenges create opportunity, and ideas evolve from sharing perspectives and knowledge among those who are committed to the ag sector's success: growers, researchers, policymakers, technology innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors. This GAIN event will also spotlight and feature innovative companies developing groundbreaking solutions for today's agriculture challenges.

The panel on AgWater Utilization & Efficiency will focus on current challenges in ag irrigation, trends, and insights about innovative opportunities for growers to improve measurement and efficiency.

About GroGuru

GroGuru is a privately held company based in San Diego, CA that provides precision soil and irrigation monitoring systems to the commercial agriculture industry. GroGuru is focused on enabling farmers to increase crop yields while optimally use water and fertilizer. GroGuru sells an innovative hardware-enabled subscription-based solution to farmers that enables optimal irrigation. GroGuru's 100 percent wireless underground technology enables a permanent installation of soil sensors, even in annual field crops like corn, soybeans, wheat, cotton and sorghum, that have a destructive harvest. GroGuru's WUGS-based systems can be buried below the till depth and communicate through several feet of soil wirelessly, thus eliminating the need for the sensors to be annually installed and removed for seeding and harvesting, respectively, for these annual crops. GroGuru is a portfolio company at the EvoNexus technology incubator, the premier technology incubator in Southern California.
