ADEL, Iowa (AgPR) Nov. 25, 2019 — An impartial team of agricultural industry judges named WinField United's InterLock Adjuvant as the "2019 Product of the Year" and Corteva Agriscience's Enlist E3 Soybean Trait as the "2019 NEW Product of the Year." This is the 17th year Agri Marketing magazine has sponsored the program.
"We started the program in 2000 to recognize the exciting new products which are entering the ag market space and well-established products which have had significant impact on production agriculture," reports Lynn Henderson, Publisher/Editorial Director of Agri Marketing magazine. "This year's honorees certainly fit into that criteria.
Past honorees include the Internet, Ethanol, Herculex Xtra and many others. Those companies with multiple honorees include: Corteva Agriscience (6), Syngenta (3), AGCO (2) and Bayer (2).
In its Entry Form, Corteva Agriscience said this about Enlist E3 soybeans: Farmers have been in desperate need of a new postemergence weed control option in soybeans. Their choices were limited as many existing herbicides had become ineffective. Furthermore, few alternatives to dicamba for use in soybeans were available until the introduction of the Enlist weed control system.
By combining three herbicide tolerances - 2,4-D choline, glyphosate and glufosinate (Liberty®) - the Enlist E3 soybean trait enables a complete weed control system that gives growers a much-needed option for controlling tough weeds in their soybean fields while helping address herbicide resistance. The transgenic soybean event in Enlist E3 soybeans is jointly developped and owned by Dow AgroSciences LLC and MS Technologies LLC.
WinField United said this about InterLock Adjuvant in its Entry Form: InterLock Adjuvant is a crop-based adjuvant that improves spray deposition on intended targets and reduces spray drift. InterLock adjuvant works effectively with herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, desiccants and defoliants, helping ensure that the products farmers invest in are leveraged to their full potential.
Drift was and still is the buzzword of dicamba applications. Not only did WinField United set out to search for a solution to this drift problem, but it found that its tried-and-true adjuvant product was making the biggest impact in reducing driftable fines.
The judges for the program were Jim Borel, Executive VP--DuPont (retired); Dave Coppess, VP Marketing--Heartland Co-op; Dr. W. David Downey, Professor Emeritus, Purdue University; Dave Englund, Pres,--Farmers National Co.' Lynn Henderson, Publisher--Agri Marketing, and Greg Ruhle, Pres & CEO, Serv-Tech.
