ONDO Smart Farming Solutions - an agritech startup providing advanced precision farming solutions - has shared the results achieved by one of their customers, for their first year of using ONDO Smart Farming technology.
ONDO technology for precision and sustainable agriculture aims at saving water, energy and human resources used on the farm while at the same time increasing the crop yield. This goal is accomplished by precise control and management of all existing farm infrastructure for irrigation, fertigation and climate control, via an ONDO supercomputer and software platform managing it.
The first farm to announce the results achieved by using ONDO is Bulgaria-based rose farm Roseland. Roseland automates and precisely controls the irrigation, fertigation and climate control on 1 ha of greenhouses and 2 ha of open fields by integrating ONDO LITE solution. It reported 30% water saved, 30% less energy consumed, 20% reduction in fertilizers used and 20% increase in crop yield. The farm achieved these results with 30% less human staff, the latter being the direct effect from the coronavirus crisis.

Thanks to the ONDO LITE solution, the management and precise control of all processes in Roseland can now be achieved in a quick and easy manner, remotely, so the farm can react timely and adequately to the changing plant growing conditions. The improved microclimate control in the greenhouses considerably reduces the plant diseases, which has a positive effect on the quantity and quality of the produce.
The greenhouse complex plans to extend the usage of ONDO on the new farming land it is about to acquire. It has also recently had a local weather station installed, thanks to which it achieves an even more precise management and control of the microclimate in the greenhouses, in line with the weather conditions.
