World Lidar Day Returns for its Second Annual Celebration on Feb. 12, 2025

Global event to shine a spotlight on the transformative power of lidar technology with celebrations at Geo Week in Denver, Colorado.

December 18, 2024, Denver, CO - The second annual World Lidar Day will take place on February 12th, 2025, coinciding with Geo Week in Denver, Colorado, inviting industry professionals and enthusiasts to honor the global impact of lidar technology. Following a successful inaugural event, World Lidar Day 2025 is set to foster awareness, collaboration, and education surrounding lidar's vast contributions across the geospatial industry, including environmental monitoring, infrastructure development, and autonomous systems.

Organized by a coalition of lidar advocates, World Lidar Day 2025 will bring together experts and established voices to celebrate the advancements of lidar technology. With its ability to create highly accurate 3D models, lidar has become essential for applications ranging from mapping climate change effects to enhancing safe navigation in autonomous vehicles. The event aims to inspire further innovation, bridge knowledge gaps, and champion lidar's role in shaping a smarter, more connected world.

The in-person element of the forthcoming World Lidar Day celebration will take place on-site at Geo Week, a premier event for professionals in geospatial and built environments. Industry partners, researchers, and other geospatial thought leaders in attendance will have a unique opportunity to share their experiences, projects, and insights into lidar's ever-expanding potential through a newly dedicated expert panel discussion and various interactive sessions.

By using the hashtags #lidarday + #geoweek and sharing educational content, case studies, and personal stories about lidar's impact, participants can amplify awareness and drive dialogue within and beyond the geospatial community. This engagement will highlight lidar's applications across disciplines and demonstrate its significance in addressing real-world challenges.
World Lidar Day invites everyone—whether they're in Denver for Geo Week or participating virtually—to join the conversation, support the growth of lidar technology, and celebrate its enduring contributions to a smarter and safer future. For more information, please visit World Lidar Day's website. To register for Geo Week to participate in-person, use code WORLDLIDARDAY for $100 off a Conference or Exhibit Hall pass.
