SweetWater Technologies and Agri Spray Drones Lead Sponsors Of Landmark, Farmer-Centric Study on Ag Drone Use, Adoption
Research by Stratovation Group will provide farmer-focused insights on drone use and offer exclusive access to high-impact data for industry sponsors and partners.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AgPR) April 3, 2025 - As drone technology continues to transform agriculture, SweetWater Technologies and Agri Spray Drones are stepping up as lead sponsors of a new, farmer-focused research initiative designed to deliver ground-level insights into how—and why—drones are being used on today's farms.
They join a group of powerhouse strategic partners for the research—the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA), The Fertilizer Institute (TFI), and D.C. Legislative and Regulatory Services, Inc. (DCLRS). The research, to be conducted by Stratovation Group, will explore farmers' perceptions, trusted influencers, and barriers and opportunities to drone use and adoption.
At the center of this landmark effort are the two industry sponsors who are already shaping the future of drone technology by offering boots-on-the-ground knowledge and drone services to farmers.
"I believe the foundation for any good ag business is to become the trusted service provider and trusted advisor to the farmer. The best way to do that is finding out what's important to farmers," said Chad Gripp of SweetWater Technologies. "We talk to farmers constantly, but this research will show us what farmers think about drone efficiency. That will set us up to communicate with them about operational excellence through drone technology and innovative products, guaranteeing them that every ounce of product they have purchased is precisely applied to their fields."
"At Agri Spray Drones, we've always believed that technology is only as powerful as the trust and understanding that comes with it," said Taylor Moreland, Founder and CEO of Agri Spray Drones. "This research is an opportunity to dig deeper into how farmers are adopting drone technology and uncover the insights that will help us develop solutions that truly meet their needs. We're proud to be part of an effort that puts farmers' voices at the forefront of innovation."
This sector-leading commitment from SweetWater Technologies and Agri Spray Drones speaks volumes about where agricultural innovation is headed, according to Cam Camfield, CEO and Founder of Stratovation Group.
"Both of these companies understand that adoption isn't just about technology—it's about building trust and taking the time to listen to farmers' needs and opinions," he said. "We're not just gathering data—we're gathering insights at the field level to assemble an informed, actionable roadmap that will move the agricultural drone sector forward."
Collaborative Effort with Deep Industry Roots
While SweetWater Technologies and Agri Spray Drones are powering this effort through sponsorship, the study also benefits from insight and reach provided by the strategic partner organizations. Their strategic roles in ag retail, input sustainability, and public policy will help frame the research with a 360-degree industry perspective.
The survey, which targets both row crop and specialty crop farmers across the U.S., will reveal what's driving or delaying drone adoption for tasks such as input application, crop scouting, seeding, and more. Results will be used to inform future product development, refine go-to-market strategies, and advocate for smarter regulatory support.
Stratovation Group is currently finalizing its exclusive roster of sponsors for the study. Sponsor companies and organizations will receive exclusive access to the full data set and early insights prior to the public release of limited top-line results.
